Lead Teaching Pastor - Steve Hudson

Steve was an independent contractor in direct sales for nine years when he began sensing God's call to full time vocational ministry.  He accepted a two-year internship at Johnston Evangelical Free Church to work on his education and gain experience.  Upon completion of the internship he was extended a call to become the Pastor of Discipleship and Outreach at Johnston Evangelical Free Church and served in that position for six years.

He has a BA in Pastoral Ministry with a Concentration in Christian Leadership from Trinity College of the Bible and Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana.  Steve has been married to his wife Diana for over 20 years, and they have four children.  The Hudson's currently reside in the city of Grimes.

Lead Pastor of Discipleship and Administration- Gary Bock

Gary came to know the Lord, was baptized and discipled as a young man.  In college he received his AA degree in Business Management and proceeded directly into the insurance industry.  He ultimately became a regional sales coordinator with a large insurance company, for which he was in charge of hiring and developing insurance agents.    During this time he met his wife, Susan, and they were married April 19,1997.  A brief nine months and three days later, on January 22, 1998, they were blessed by God with the arrival of their first, of four, daughters.

After 12 1/2 years in the insurance industry, and after trying to put God "on hold" for three years of that time - as he had been feeling the call into ministry - Gary left the marketplace.  He enrolled into Trinity Bible College and Seminary to obtain his pastoral ministries degree with an emphasis in Christian Leadership Development.  While enrolled at Trinity he was asked to serve an internship at Johnston E Free Church until he answered the call to help plant Timberline E Free Church in Urbandale.

Gary is passionate for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his wife, Susan, and their daughters.  He is also passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus with others, along with equipping and training God's people for the work God has called them to do.

In his spare time he loves to travel, ride his Harley, go boating and fishing with his family, going on dates with his wife, and "dating" his daughters.  He also loves to read and enjoys being a lifetime learner.  Gary, Susan and their girls reside in Urbandale.

Pastor of Counseling and Worship - Don Morris

Pastor Don has been in the ministry for over 40 years.  Most of those years have been in the Des Moines area.  Don's father was a church planter and his mother an accomplished gospel piano player.  Church talk and Christian music filled his life at a very early age.

He holds two Bachelor Degrees from Cornerstone University, one in Christian Education and one in church music.   He also holds a Master's Degree from Moody Bible Institute.  His years in church music and 10,000 hours of Biblical, Christ-centered counseling will enable Don to serve the Timberline Church well.

Don has been married to Nancy for 30 years.  They have four grown children and have lived in Urbandale for 20 years.

Director of Technology and Media-Andy Erickson

Andy brings his 10 years of experience from the film, TV, and video world to Timberline. He has earned an A.S. in Film and TV Production and a B.S. in Entertainment Business at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida.  For the past 10 years, Andy has worked for varoius productions such as NBC's "America's Got Talent", HGTV's "West End Salvage", NBA-Entertainment, and has created original video/media solutions for AAU Junior Olympics, USATF Youth Nationals, and several other productions.  He brings his passion for technology and media to Timberline to serve the Lord.

Andy and his wife Emily were married in 2009 and live in Urbandale.  The Ericksons are expecting their first child in the spring of 2013!

Intern of Student and Worship Development-Ryan Wilson

Ryan and his wife Britney have served in the youth ministry at Timberline for the past 3 years.  Ryan is currently studying for his Bachelor's in Ministry at Antioch College in Ames, Iowa.  Ryan's internship is shaped around worship in music and teaching the Bible to middle and high school students. Ryan and Britney reside in Grimes.

Ministerial Intern-Richard Moore

As Ministerial Intern, Richard is currently pastoring Woodlands Creek Church. Richard grew up in California and Arizona.  He sensed God's call to ministry early in life and attended Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, where he earned a degree in Christian Education with a Youth Ministry Emphasis. After graduating Richard married his best friend Sarah and they moved to Ankeny to begin ministry.  They will celebrate their 6th anniversary in December of 2012.   After 5 1/2 years in ministry, Richard has stepped out in faith and become an Intern at Timberline while pursuing his Master of Divinity Degree. Richard and Sarah reside in Ankeny.

Intern of Children's Ministries-Jim Lee

Jim received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 1991 and then worked in a residential treatment center with abused children and later in a juvenile justice center.  Jim also taught Bible and Math at a Christian High School in California.  Jim and his wife Lisa have ministered to Junior and Senior youth groups for 6 years and now Jim is continuing his ministry with children at Timberline.  Jim and Lisa have 3 sons.

Intern of Family Ministries and Outreach-Troy Shaffer

Troy received a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies at the University of Sioux Falls and a Master of Divinity at Sioux Falls Seminary in 1998. Troy then served as an Associate Pastor of Youth and Family for 4 years. Then he worked in a para-church organization, encouraging youth ministers and students to share their faith through campus ministry. From 2004-2010, Troy was the Lead Pastor at a church in southern Iowa. He and his wife Susan have 4 children and reside in Grimes.

Administrative Assistant-Diane Browne

Diane has worked as an Administrative Assistant in many different businesses, the last being the North American Mission Board in Alpharetta, Georgia. Diane is married to Charlie and they have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.  Diane has been at the front desk of Timberline Church since the beginning of 2010.

Administrative Assistant-Susan Shaffer

Susan worked in the church office in Corydon, Iowa where her husband, Troy, pastored for 6 years.  She and Troy have four children and live in Grimes. Susan began working in the office at Timberline in 2011.
